OK, I gave up after page 3, here goes:
The obvious points have been made; For a small number of t2 bpo's there too much demand, for the rest there's not enough demand. The current static 20 bpos per t2 widget is broken.
Some observations: I have 6 research agents running (most are lvl 4 b.t.w) and after my months of agent running I have absolutely NO interaction with them beyond logging in every day hoping for a t2 print email. I don't think this lack of interation with the EVE universe is what CCP had in mind.
If I REALLY want a t2 hac Deimos print, I have no way of getting it through the research system. Nada, they are all out there and there's no way I'm getting one. Does this really make sense? In the real world if I want a faster car I can spend gobs of money, hire people, do research myself in the goal of producing a faster car. Why can't we do the same in EVE?
Co-operation between characters or their research agents is not possible. Each research project is a separate entity and if I'm a part of a huge alliance that has its own Manhatten project I can't provide my characters research agents to the cause.
Some sort of dynamic supply/deman allocation of NEW bpo prints of previously released t2 widgets needs to be implemented.
If I really want that Deimos t2 print I should be able to instruct my research agent to start researching a Deimos. ALL my research points are REMOVED from the general research point pool and are now in a Deimos research account. After a while my research agent(s) tell me they need a deimos to take a apart and see how it works. Once I get my hands on a deimos they take it a apart and hopefully are able to glean some insight, and my deimos research points go up. Then they want some wizbang armor hardener (as hacs have higher resists) that you can only get from a COSMOS mission (fortunately they tell me this!)
I have two options, go run the cosmos missions or buy the wizbang bpc from someone who did. This will help tie in some of the npc missions outside of research into the research process.
After NUMEROUS other request for rare bpc, items, and isk, I'll have finally provided all the parts and technology my research agent needs (and gained some more deimos research points in the process) My deimos research points are ONLY THEN enter into a lottery (?or auction?) that takes place each month for ONE deimos print.
Deciding to take your rp's out of the general pool and into a specific ship type will allow someone to concentrate on a single ship they feel is valuable enough to pay back the huge time and cost expense involved. Making it hugely expensive (on the order of billions of ISK, more for bigger ships, less for components) will prevent the t2 market from being flooded. Only having ONE bpo per ship per month will keep the t2 investment market from crashing and allow a slow gradual shift in pricing.
Another possibility is to allow other research agents to join your deimos research project, improving co-operation amongst players.
The concept would create additional supply in those t2 areas where people considered the investment worthy yet prevent the market from being flooded. It would also create more interaction with the research agents as you'd have to be running cosmos (or other) missions in order to feed their research projects.
.... let the flaming begin! :)
